Dr. John A. Gallagher holds a B.A. degree from the University of Southern Maine. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic where he graduated Magna cum Laude.
Dr. Gallagher was subsequently honored as one of the "Outstanding Young Men of America". He opened his practice in Portland in 1987 and has served the needs of his patients for the last 20 years. During that time he completed additional training in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries. His interest in sport lead him to be a participating health care provider at events such as the Boston Marathon, the National Corporate Athletic Association Track and Field Championship, and to care for the athletes of the men's professional beach volleyball tour (EVA and AVP).
As a life-long learner, Dr. Gallagher has always sought for new ways to help people lead healthier lives; towards that end, he has undertaken the study of acupuncture. Dr. Gallagher is currently licensed by the State of Maine to perform Chiropractic Acupuncture and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Chiropractic Acupuncture.
